Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Sands
Integrating diversity, equity and inclusion into all aspects of our company creates positive impact for our people, our business and our communities. Our DEI initiatives aim to remove systemic barriers and advance underrepresented groups by targeting the most relevant issues and specific populations in our regions.
Our Commitment
We’re committed to ensuring an inclusive, integrated and collaborative environment with deep appreciation and respect for the diverse backgrounds of our Team Members, guests and business partners.
We believe a culture that celebrates diverse perspectives and promotes inclusiveness for all is propelled to success by the strength of the whole and inspires our positive impact around the world.

Our DEI approach includes five core strategies:
- Human Resources and Talent Management: We foster an environment in which Team Members can fully realize their potential.
- Supplier Diversity and Inclusion: We build relationships and create opportunities for small, HUBZone, local and diverse businesses.
- Community Investment: We empower causes and organizations that help underrepresented groups overcome barriers.
- Corporate Governance: We provide the structure and guiding principles to achieve our desired outcomes.
- Benchmarking and Communications: We ensure transparency and accountability by clearly communicating values and progress.
Team Member Programs
We’re focused on a variety of initiatives to drive an inclusive and equitable culture and work environment.
Supportive Benefits: We provide progressive and competitive compensation and market-leading benefits packages. In support of our DEI goals, we continually review our benefits policies and procedures for opportunities to accentuate or adjust our offerings.
For example, we enhanced our maternity leave benefits for corporate Team Members in 2022, and Sands China extended post-paternity benefits to new fathers in 2023, after introducing these benefits to women in 2022. Sands China also has developed a Returnship Program to support women returning to employment after life events and personal circumstances necessitated their leave.
Training & Awareness: Beyond our strict adherence to compliance-driven discrimination training, we supplement with allyship trainings, listening tours to shape our programs and the ongoing In Focus DEI Conversation Series, which provides corporate Team Members with insights into DEI issues from nationally recognized leaders and experts.
Resource Groups: As part of Sands’ efforts to create a DEI-focused culture, as well as drive our workforce development goals, Team Member resource groups play an important role in bridging career-building avenues with community and connection.
The EmpowHER Team Member resource group for women and their allies and the Uni+ed Team Member resource group for LGBTQ+ community members and their allies enable participants to network, learn about issues, develop professionally and rally together through volunteer engagements with local organizations.
Community Engagement
We extend our DEI commitment through a variety of Sands Cares partnerships aimed at strengthening the work of diverse community nonprofits.
Our engagements address the core priorities outlined in our Communities pillar with a specific focus on helping remove barriers for underrepresented groups. We commit a significant portion of our corporate giving funding to diverse community organizations and have built well-rounded relationships at the national and local levels with women’s, Black, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), Hispanic and LGBTQ+ nonprofits.
Sands has aided nonprofits serving diverse communities in building capacity, launching programs and further delivering on their missions.
Some of our key initiatives include:
- Partnering with the with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to establish the Sands Hospitality Immersion Program, which hosts select students from historically Black colleges and universities to entrench in the Las Vegas hospitality industry
- Providing annual support to 100 Black Men Las Vegas for its youth mentorship programs
- Contributing capacity-building funding to help the Asian Community Development Council establish the Healthy Asian Pacific Islander Medical Center and the API Language Link to connect community members with critical social services
- Providing the seed funding to enable the National Hispanic Institute to bring its transformative youth leadership development program to Las Vegas
