Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kit Build Produces 57,000 Kits for Clean the World

Sands China and Marina Bay Sands joined forces to assemble 57,000 hygiene kits at the Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kit Build with Clean the World to provide critical supplies for people affected by hardship, disasters and personal crises. More than 800 Team Members, along with community volunteers, worked over a three-day period in December to support Clean the World, a social enterprise dedicated to WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and sustainability.

Each region assembled 28,500 hygiene kits containing soap collected from their resorts and recycled by Clean the World, along with essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, toothbrushes and toothpaste. Team Members also wrote inspiring messages for kits that Clean the World will distribute through relief organizations, including Children’s International in the Philippines and the Singapore Red Cross.

Since 2014, the Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kit Build with Clean the World has provided 937,725 hygiene kits for people in need. The company’s support for Clean the World also includes recycling of hotel property amenities and the Drop by Drop Project, a unique program in which Sands donates funds from the company’s water savings for grants to conservation groups addressing water stewardship in the company’s regions around the world.

The Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kit Build is one of three global Sands Cares initiatives along with the Sands Cares Global Food Kit Build launched in 2022 and the Sands Cares Accelerator, a program that helps advance nonprofit organizations to achieve greater community impact. Together, these programs unify Sands’ properties around the world to address key priorities such as hardship relief, food security, disaster response and preparedness, and nonprofit capacity building to keep communities strong and help them remain great places to live, work and visit.
