Marina Bay Sands Executive Chef Named Halton Group Executive Chef of the Year
Christopher Christie, Executive Chef at Marina Bay Sands is the recent recipient of the ‘Halton Group Executive Chef of the Year’ award. The announcement was made in March at the World Gourmet Summit 2017. The award recognizes an Executive Chef who is directly involved and responsible for at least two food & beverage outlets and banquet facilities in a hotel/restaurant chain environment in Singapore.
As the Executive Chef of Marina Bay Sands since March 2009, Chef Christopher Christie oversees the entire 400-strong culinary team at Las Vegas Sands’ integrated resort in Singapore. On a daily basis, Chef Christie is responsible for making sure the 43 individual kitchens – some of which are 24/7 – work like clockwork, creating culinary menus with his chefs, training new talent, and overseeing the entire food supply chain for the property.
The World Gourmet Summit was sponsored by Halton, an international company specializing in indoor climate and indoor environment products, services and solutions. Eligible candidates of the ‘Halton Group Executive Chef of the Year’ award were required to consistently set standards of excellence in the culinary arts as well as provide excellent dining experiences. Evaluation criteria included professionalism, culinary skills, consistency, recognition and commitment to quality. Chef Christie brings over 30 years of international experience in the food and beverage industry, including nearly two decades in Asia. He was also named Awards of Excellence Executive Chef of the Year in 2014.
