Las Vegas Sands Named to Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies 2025
Sands has again been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies. The company ranked 60th out of 600 companies on the 2025 list, moving up from 259th on the 2024 list. In addition to the significant jump, Sands ranked highest among 19 companies making the list in the hotels, dining and leisure industry.
Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies 2025 ranking focuses on a holistic view of corporate responsibility that considers the three pillars of environment, social and corporate governance.
“While appearing on Newsweek’s list again is a great honor, seeing our ranking rise considerably is a tremendous testament to the responsible way we approach all facets of our business and our relationships to the environment and with our people and communities,” Ron Reese, senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs, who spearheads corporate responsibility initiatives for the company, said. “We strive for continuous progress and appreciate that the extensive work throughout our company has been recognized.”
Sands’ environmental score of 97.46 out of 100 on Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies 2025 was the company’s highest rating, also a significant increase from its 2024 Environmental score of 87.47. The company scored 79.37 in the social category and 79.94 on the corporate governance concerns category.
In determining the list and rankings, Newsweek and data research firm Statista reviewed the 2,000 largest public companies headquartered in the U.S. and assessed them on environmental, social and corporate governance concerns. These three scores were combined to determine the company’s overall corporate social responsibility score. The analysis is based on data from 30 key performance indicators, such as energy usage and charitable donations, as well as a reputation survey of more than 26,000 U.S. consumers.
Sands’ commitment to ESG leadership is grounded in its corporate responsibility pillars of People, Communities, Planet and Governance, which address the ESG issues most material to the company’s business, communities and key stakeholders.
